In-Person Consultations

In-Person Nutrition Consultations for Individuals and Families Living In the Denver, Colorado Area

Initial Nutrition Consultations

Our first session together generally runs for an hour, and follow-ups are 45 minutes thereafter. During this time we’ll start off slow; I like to get a good sense of a person’s current lifestyle, medical history, and goals. From there we’ll work together through nutrition interventions and health coaching at a pace that works for you, generally meeting once every two weeks. At the end of each consultation, we’ll establish clear and achievable goals, or action steps, for you to work on in between sessions. These goals help us track your progression and make healthy lifestyle changes seem natural.

Diving Deeper

After laying this foundation, we’ll then dive deeper into some of the more complex health concerns you may have. This is where my integrative and functional training comes into play. Some examples of this are Nutrigenomics (the study of nutrition’s impact on gene expression), micronutrient testing (checking cell-level deficiencies in vitamins and minerals), and analysis of a person’s specific gut bacteria/yeast to understand digestive issues, immune system function, and even mental health. I work with each individual to figure out the appropriate testing and nutrition interventions. I believe in a “food first approach,”but might also recommend reputable nutrition supplements that assist in achieving optimal health.

Part of my work occurs “behind the scenes” as I connect with labs, evaluate lab test results prior to the consultation, write reports for the client, research, and prepare personalized strategies along the way. On the client-facing side, I’ll engage through scheduled consultations and follow-up emails and calls to guide and fine-tune the process.

Tip of the Day

Even while maintaining a healthy diet, we still may need the additional support provided by a multi-vitamin. Many of the conventional foods we eat are grown in soil with depleted nutrients. Similarly, our body’s gut may be suffering an impaired ability to break down and absorb what nutrients our food does provide. We may also have developed various Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) on our genes that prevent our metabolic pathways from working optimally. A multi-vitamin can provide extra daily support to make sure your cells are getting the vitamins and minerals they need to work their best. Still, the only way to know what vitamins and minerals your body may be deficient in is through blood work. Work with Sally to make sure your nutrients are at optimal levels.
