Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chopped bacon until crispy. Strain the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving only a thin layer of grease in the pan.
Place the shredded turnips and zucchini into a large colander or strainer and press down firmly with your hands, forcing out the excess liquid.
Reduce pan heat to medium and add the chopped onion. Once the onion is translucent, add the grated turnips and zucchini to the pan. Stir the mixture.
Allow the mixture to cook on medium, and stir occasionally to prevent burning. After about 10-15 minutes the turnips and zucchini will have browned and become crispy.
Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, add the cooked bacon back to the pan, and give a final stir before serving.
